September 30, 2026 — This past weekend’s nor’easter may have helped with an algae bloom that led to a shellfish ban in parts of Maine.
A member of the Department of Marine Resources says the bloom, that’s been a threat to shellfish, is spreading offshore into Downeast Maine.
