July 22, 2010 – The National Marine Fisheries Service, as bumper stickers and banners say, has been destroying fishermen, families, cities and the American people since 1976.
It has been taking food off our tables, money out of our pockets, roofs from over our heads and, most of all, taking our children's future away.
This is not the America our fathers, grandfathers, aunts and uncles fought and died for.
Gloucester fishing boats were some of the first vessels to take up arms to defend this country and feed this country. So now, our government is paying us back by letting people like Patricia Kurkul and Jane Lubchenco destroy our fishing fleet.
