NOAA has proposed a rule to implement Sector Operations Plans for the 2011 groundfish fishing year.
According to an inter-governmental NOAA e-mail, a total of 835 permits have enrolled in sectors for Fishing Year 2011, up by approximately 10% from Fishing Year 2010, representing approximately 99% of the fishing history associated with the Northeast groundfish fishery.
This rule has a 15 day comment period.
Framework 45, the rule that includes fishery management measures for Fishing Year 2011, is expected to be in Federal Register next week.
