October 1, 2013 — Last Saturday, seafood lovers from around the city gathered at the Bank of America Pavilion for the second annual Boston Seafood Festival.
The festival, presented by the Boston Fisheries Foundation, featured live music, food vendors, craft vendors, and more. For $10, festival attendees gained access to a world of seafood and sea-related activities.
The thirteen local food vendors (some of which gave away free samples) offered everything from Boston classics like clam chowder and lobster rolls to more exotics dishes like sushi rolls and dogfish filets. A popular all-day lobster bake featured lobsters meals that raffle contestants had a chance to win every hour.
The craft vendors featured a variety of ocean-inspired items. Between the seven vendors, there were ocean paintings, seashell-covered stained glass windows, sea glass jewelry, and other marine themed pieces.
In addition to food and shopping, there were plenty of other activities for festival-goers to enjoy. In between fish cutting and oyster shucking contests, the main stage hosted cooking demonstrations by chefs from popular Boston restaurants and hotels.
