OAK ISLAND, N.C. — September 29, 2014 — Why did dozens of dead sharks wash ashore on a beach in Oak Island, North Carolina over the weekend? The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries is looking into the matter, according to a report on WECT.com.
A North Carolina man said he discovered about 50 dead sharks while he walked along the beach Sunday morning. The sharks, he said, were between one and five-feet long.
