MIAMI, Fl. — September 20, 2013 — U.S. wildlife authorities say the Alabama shad may be a fish species that needs protection under the Endangered Species Act.
The National Marine Fisheries Service has announced that it will conduct a review to determine whether the Alabama shad should be declared a threatened or endangered species. The agency regulates endangered species in the ocean.
