July 16, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 134,900 pounds of fish and 43,400 pounds of scallops Monday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Small haddock: 47,500 pounds (93 cents)
Scrod haddock: 45,500 pounds ($1.66)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Closed Ares II: 11,700 pounds ($13.23)
Scallops, U10 NCLA: 11,100 pounds ($15.83)
