July 11, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 20,000 pounds of fish and 14,800 pounds of scallops Wednesday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, 10 to 20 Mid Atlantic: 11,400 pounds ($11.78)
Small dabs: 5,300 pounds ($1.20)
Scallops, U12 Mid Atlantic: 3,400 pounds ($14.43)
Scrod cod, jig: 1,700 pounds ($2.50)
