August 6, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 85,800 pounds of fish and 194,600 pounds of scallops Monday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, U10 Closed Area II: 39,800 pounds ($15.53)
Scallops, U10 Georges: 26,900 pounds ($15.63)
Scrod haddock: 28,500 pounds (96 cents)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Georges: 22,500 pounds ($12.83)
Scallops, 20 to 30 Closed Area II: 24,000 pounds ($12.73)
