August 20, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 145,100 pounds of fish and 69,800 pounds of scallops Monday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scrod haddock: 65,100 pounds ($1.28)
Scallops, U12 NCLA: 17,500 pounds ($14.53)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Mid Atlantic: 11,200 pounds ($13.13)
Scallops, U12 Closed Area II: 9,900 pounds ($13.80)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Closed Area II: 9,700 pounds ($13.38)
