August 4, 2026 — The following was released by the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council:
The American Samoa Large Vessel Prohibited Area (LVPA) community meetings scheduled for August 6 and 7, 2026, have been postponed.
We remain committed to engaging with fishermen, families and island communities on this important issue. New meeting dates will be announced once they are confirmed.
