WEBINAR: Breaking the Chains – How to Avoid Human Trafficking in the Seafood Supply Chain

June 17, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Transboundary Resources Assessment Committee (TRAC) Meeting »

June 17, 2015 — The following was released by SeafoodSource.com

Wednesday, 17 June 2015:
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (EST)

It’s been a year since Thailand dropped to Tier 3 on the U.S. State Department’s Trafficking in Persons Report, in part due to the country’s lack of controlling the ongoing problem of human trafficking in the fishing industry.

Recent media reports show the problem still exists and importers at the other end of the supply chain need to consider their options to prevent being connected to this kind of behavior.

In this webinar on Wednesday, 17 June at 11am EST, we’ll talk about what’s changed, if things have improved, and what seafood professionals can do to safeguard their seafood supply chains.
