July 15, 2026 — Global shipping rates continue to be high as the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran drives up costs, and the latest attacks by Iran on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz could cause more issues.
Trans-Pacific shipping rates appeared to moderate in early July, as spot rates for certain major routes stayed relatively flat after months of steady increases, according to shipping rate indexing and analysis firm Xeneta.

May 16, 2022 — U.S. ports are processing a record number of shipping containers this spring.
U.S. ports covered by the National Retail Federation’s and Hacket Associates’ Global Port Tracker handled 2.34 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEU) – one 20-foot container or its equivalent – in March, up 10.8 percent from February and a 3.2 percent year-over-year increase, NRF said in a press release.
