Largest-ever Seafood Expo Asia opens for 11th edition

September 11, 2023 — The 11th edition of Seafood Expo Asia (SEA) kicked off the first day of the three-day expo on 11 September.

The show, running through 13 September at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore, brought in 363 exhibiting companies from 41 countries. Featuring 26 national and regional pavilions – eight pavilions more than in the 2022 edition – event organizer Diversified Communications said the show is 86 percent larger by area than it was in 2022. (Editor’s note: Diversified Communications owns and operates SeafoodSource).

2023 Seafood Expo Asia, taking place 11 to 13 September, slated to be largest ever

August 1, 2023 — The next edition of Seafood Expo Asia, taking place 11 to 13 September at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, is set to be the largest in the event’s history.

Event organizer Diversified Communications announced that as of 1 August, the show is nearly fully booked with an exhibit floor that will be 84 percent larger than last year. This 2023 edition of the expo also marks the second time the event will take place in Singapore after moving from its previous location in Hong Kong. [Editor’s note: Diversified Communications also owns and operates SeafoodSource].

Seafood Expo Asia returns for 10th edition and first in-person show since 2018

September 14, 2022 — Seafood Expo Asia (SEA), a seafood industry event drawing companies from 42 countries, kicked off the first day of the three-day expo in Singapore on 14 September, 2022.

The event, held in the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, runs from 14 to 16 September and is the 10th edition of SEA. It also represents the first in-person SEA event that Diversified Communications – which also owns and operates Seafood Expo North America in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. and Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona, Spain – has held since 2018. (Editor’s note: Diversified Communications owns and operates SeafoodSource).

Seafood Expo Asia hosting second edition of Reconnect

June 15, 2021 — Seafood Expo Asia, produced by organizer Diversified Communications, is hosting a second edition of Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect for five days of online business matchmaking.

The event, taking place from 15 to 19 November, is “designed to facilitate the meeting, trading and sourcing needs of the seafood industry in the Asian market,” Diversified Communications said. The event first took place in November 2020 after the show organizer was forced to put a pause on hosting an event in Asia due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Connecting during COVID: Seafood processing equipment developers going virtual

December 29, 2020 — The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic at the start of 2020 forced much of the world to reimagine its vision for the year, and even the decade.

Sequestering to help contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus quickly became the norm, resulting in the scaling back of business and personal travel, as well as social gatherings worldwide. Global industries have had to redefine the ways in which supply chains and stakeholders connect, an obstacle that the seafood segment has countered with digital ingenuity.

Seafood Expo Asia moves online with Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect

September 24, 2020 — Seafood Expo Asia, an annual seafood trade show produced by Diversified Communications, has announced its 2020 event will take place online as a three-day “Seafood Exo Asia Reconnect” experience 17 to 19 November, 2020.

Seafood Expo Asia, which has taken place in the past in Hong Kong, was set to move to Singapore this year, but the coronavirus pandemic put a pause on those plans. Instead, Diversified Communications said it has created “a digital solution to connect seafood buyers throughout Asia with suppliers from around the world.”

Seafood Expo Asia: New location, dates announced

May 20, 2020 — Diversified Communications has announced that the 2020 edition of Seafood Expo Asia is planned to take place from 18 to 20 November in Singapore.

The new location for the 10th edition of the  event – which was previously hosted in Hong Kong – is at the Singapore EXPO, in Hall 2. For the first time, the event will also be co-located with Asia Fruit Logistica, the leading continental trade show for Asia’s fresh produce business – which, in 2019, brought more than 800 exhibitors from 40 countries together to meet with more than 12,000 trade professionals from around the world.

Diversified Communications cancels Seafood Expo Asia 2019 edition

August 21, 2019 — Diversified Communications, which operates several seafood trade shows around the globe, has made the decision to cancel this year’s Seafood Expo Asia, which was scheduled to take place in Hong Kong from 3 to 5 September, 2019.

The move was made in response to ongoing social unrest in Hong Kong and careful analysis of the current situation, pending protests, and the impacts on the event, Diversified Group Vice President Liz Plizga said.
