SSC’s Ecosystem Subcommittee to hold online meeting August 31-September 1, 2021

August 13, 2021 — The following was released by the Pacific Fishery Management Council:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Scientific and Statistical Committee’s (SSC) Ecosystem Subcommittee will host an online meeting that is open to the public. The online meeting will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 1 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time, until 5 p.m., and will reconvene on Wednesday, September 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

PFMC Groundfish Subcommittee of the SSC to hold online meeting August 17, 2021

July 28, 2021 — The following was released by the Pacific Fishery Management Council:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council)  Groundfish Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will hold an online meeting to review new groundfish stock assessments. The online meeting will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time.

Salmon Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee to hold online meeting June 4, 2021

May 12, 2021 — The following was released by the Pacific Fishery Management Council:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Scientific and Statistical Committee’s (SSC’s) Salmon Subcommittee will meet to review the SSC’s role in reviewing salmon forecast methodologies and other analyses informing Pacific Council decisions as specified in the Pacific Coast Salmon Fishery Management Plan and in Council Operating Procedure 15. The SSC Salmon Subcommittee may also discuss how best scientific information available determinations for salmon decision-making might be structured. The online meeting will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.

SSC’s Economics and Groundfish Subcommittees to hold online meeting May 26, 2021

April 28, 2021 — The following was released by the Pacific Fishery Management Council:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Scientific and Statistical Committee’s (SSC) Economics and Groundfish Subcommittees will hold a meeting to review a new Quota Share Owners’ Cost Survey to inform decisions on the west coast limited entry trawl catch shares program and to do some initial planning on an upcoming review of the limited entry fixed gear sablefish program. The online meeting will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time, and it will be open to the public.

PFMC: Three Groundfish Stock Assessment Review Panels Scheduled to be Held Online (2021)

March 30, 2021 — The following was released by the Pacific Fishery Management Council:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene three Stock Assessment Review (STAR) Panels this year to review new stock assessments for Dover sole, spiny dogfish, lingcod, and vermilion and sunset rockfishes.  These STAR Panel meetings are open to the public, and will be held online.

PFMC: Pre-Assessment Workshop for Lingcod and Vermilion/Sunset Rockfishes March 29, 2021

February 4, 2021 — The following was released by the Pacific Fishery Management Council:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) and the National Marine Fisheries Service Northwest and Southwest Fisheries Science Centers will hold an online workshop to review data and analyses proposed to inform new assessments for lingcod and vermilion/sunset rockfishes scheduled to be conducted this year.  The workshop is open to the public. The pre-assessment workshop will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time and continuing until business for the day has been completed, no later than 4 p.m.

The Highly Migratory Species Subcommittee of the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will hold an online meeting Thursday, February 4, 2021 beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) and continuing until 5 p.m. or until business for the day has been completed.  The meeting will reconvene, if needed, on Friday, February 5, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. PST and continuing until 1 p.m. or until business for the day has been completed.

The Ecosystem Subcommittee of the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council’s) Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will hold an online meeting to consult with the National Marine Fisheries Service California Current Integrated Ecosystem Assessment (CCIEA) team on how COVID-19 impacts may affect its annual Ecosystem Status Report to the Pacific Council.  The meeting is open to the public and will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific Standard Time and continuing until 1 p.m. or until business for the day has been completed.

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) and the NMFS Northwest Science Center will hold an online workshop to review data and analyses proposed to inform new assessments for Dover sole, copper rockfish, quillback rockfish, and squarespot rockfish scheduled to be conducted next year, which is open to the public.  The meeting will be held Monday, October 26, 2020, starting at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) and ending at 4:30 p.m., or until business for the day is complete.  The pre-assessment workshop will continue on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 beginning at 12:30 p.m. and continuing until 4:30 p.m. or until business for the day has been completed.
