Scientist Studies Black Sea Bass as New England Catch Climbs

August 15, 2016 — A Maryland scientist is working on a study of black sea bass, a fish that has been turning up in New England fishermen’s nets more often in recent years.

Brad Stevens of University of Maryland Eastern Shore plans to help regulators better understand the importance of habitat for black sea bass. The Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership is giving Stevens and a student of his more than $200,000 for the work.
