Jones Amendment banning new catch share programs picks up more political support |

There are now 35 U.S. House members who have signed on to support the so-called Jones Amendment banning new catch share programs.
The group hopes to cut off funding for additional catch share programs in the pending NOAA budget.

Though monitoring is important keeping costs down is critical. As Panel Member Gary Libby pointed out, "If we had 100 percent monitoring we probably wouldn't have an industry."
