Barney Frank’s Releases Statement Regarding Dale Jones' New Position at NOAA
WASHINGTON - January 11, 2012 - Congressman Barney Frank today released the following statement upon hearing the news that Dale Jones has been assigned a new position at NOAA.
 

I was disappointed to learn that Dale Jones has been given new responsibilities given how badly he discharged the ones he had.  This confirms my sense that something is wrong when someone with his record could not be disciplined appropriately.  I now plan to look very carefully at the reasons the Department of Commerce could not discipline Mr. Jones, and if there are statutory bars preventing such action I will work to remove them.

Though monitoring is important keeping costs down is critical. As Panel Member Gary Libby pointed out, "If we had 100 percent monitoring we probably wouldn't have an industry."
