NOAA and Fishermen Cooperate on Research into Monkfish Migration |

NOAA researchers are working with commercial fishermen to put
electronic tags on hundreds of monkfish (Lophius americanus) in the
waters of southern New England and the Gulf of Maine to track where the
commercially important fish goes during its lifetime, and to answer
other questions about its biology.

Will catch shares do the trick? by Lisa Duchene
I support catch-shares in principal, and I support ending overfishing and bringing fisheries into balance.
But will this latest regulatory overhaul and the catch-share system help rebuild New England’s traditional fisheries? I don’t know, but I certainly hope ― and pray ― it will.
Hopefully, when the stocks return, there will still be New England fishermen around to catch them.
