GLOUCESTER, Mass -- Tuesday, September 6th, 2011-- Sponsored by the Gloucester Fisherman’s Wives Association, a new season for Cape Ann Fresh Catch, community supported fisheries – meaning you give a fisherman money to go fishing and receive a regular supply of the freshest fish available – begins tomorrow.
Sign up for a weekly or bi-weekly supply of fillets, whole fish, or alternating choices. The whole fish is a fabulous, flavorful challenge – something I congratulated myself for tackling every week, and which always earned high taste points at the table - but the fillets make life a wee bit simpler. HASTINGS: Time to improve the Endangered Species Act
May 18, 2012 - When the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was signed into law in 1973 by President Nixon, he spoke about the importance of preserving “the rich array of animal life with which our country has been blessed.” I believe that goal is as important today as it was back then. However, after nearly 40 years, it’s time to take a fresh, honest look at the law and consider whether there are ways it could be improved to do a better job of protecting and recovering species.
