April 30, 2015 — The following was released by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC):
The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Northern Shrimp Advisory Panel and Section are scheduled to meet on June 12, 2015 at the Westin Portland Harborview (formerly Eastland Hotel), 157 High Street, Portland, Maine; 207.775.5411. The Advisory Panel will meet from 9 – 11:30 AM to review submitted public comment on the Public Information Document (PID) for Draft Amendment 3 to the Northern Shrimp FMP and develop recommendations for issues to be included in the Draft Amendment. The Section will meet from 1 – 5 PM to review submitted public comment as well as the Advisory Panel’s recommendations, and identify specific management options for inclusion in Draft Amendment 3, the focus of which is the development of a limited entry program for the northern shrimp fishery. The public is welcome to attend both meetings. Since public comment has already been solicited through a formal public comment process for the PID, limited public comment will be allowed at the meeting at the discretion of the Section Chair.
