LETTER: NMFS regulations not at all about 'saving fish' |

10-6-09 We fishermen and woman proudly do jobs not everyone can do. We feed the nation and we help homeland security. Tourists ask questions and take photos. Artists paint pictures. Fishermen are environmentalists, spending most of our time on the water. Fishing is more than a job, it is a 24/7 lifestyle. Accountability is a gift we give our children, so they may carry on the tradition. Consolidation, extermination, devastation, our numbers of fishermen have dwindled drastically. We have complied with regulations, the fish are back. Yet, we are not allowed to fish. It seems like National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has other intentions.
