Eastern Fisheries blaze caused $800,000 in damage |

NEW BEDFORD — The general -alarm waterfront fire that prompted more than
60 firefighters to respond on June 2 caused an estimated $800,000 in
damage at the Eastern Fisheries Hervey Tichon Avenue plant, the city's
fire investigator said Friday.
Sections of the roof will have to be replaced, and "some of the superstructure," or the "bones of the building," will have to be replaced or fixed, New Bedford Fire Lt. Ron Auger said.
